Online gambling is a fun pastime for millions of people all over the world. Players log on to online gambling sites each day to play their favorite games from blackjack to craps and poker. Most times, online gamblers are smart with their cash but sometimes players can get carried away. One gambler from Leeds recently got carried away while gambling online and ended up stealing cash from his family to fund his online gambling habit.

The player, known as Andrew P., was so addicted to online gambling that he stole tens of thousands of dollars to fund his habit. The thirty two year old man took out a loan of $75,000 on his parents’ home and lost all the cash.

The gambler then opened up online bank accounts in his mother and grandmother’s name and then stole an additional $20,000. The gambler even talked his sister into playing the role of their mother to take out the loan on their parent’s home.

All total, the online gambler stole over $200,000 in just over a year’s time. The family of the gambler is now out of cash as the gambler has taken all of their life savings. However, some of the losses will be given back since credit cards were used.

The gambler will now be punished for his actions and will have to face twenty months in jail on theft and fraud charges. This is not a very long jail sentence for the charges given. If the gambler had lived in another country he would have faced a stiffer sentence, actually the gambler would have spent years in jail.
