iPhone Application a Potential Threat to Casino Blackjack
Technology is constantly changing and evolving to meet the current needs of consumers. One type of technology that seems to be on a faster pace than most is mobile devices. The Apple iPhone and iPod Touch recently added a new application that is a card counting program. This program could help those who play blackjack perform better and win.Regulators in the gambling industry in the state of Nevada have warned casinos in the area about the card counting program and that they should be on the lookout for players who may try to use the program.
In the state of Nevada card counting is not illegal though a casino can ban you if they catch you card counting. However a device that helps count cards is considered a felony and charges can be filed. A memo was sent out to the casinos to warn them of the new application.
California gambling regulators let Nevada regulators know about the device. Indian casino officials found customers using it and they told state authorities. Player’s can use the device to count the cards while playing blackjack and help determine the outcome so the player’s bet will be won.
