According to a local news report a seventy year old man was gambling at the Taj Mahal in New Jersey where he won a large sum of money at the blackjack tables. After leaving the casino the man was then attacked in the parking lot by his vehicle.

The man had been playing blackjack around 8:00 am on Sunday morning when he won the $10,000. The man played a little longer and then cashed in his chips. Apparently the man’s attacker was watching him and saw that he won a substantial amount of money.

The man was walking back to his car when he noticed the other man following him. The man was then attacked and beaten. After the suspect attacked the man he got in a taxi cab and told the driver to take him to several places in Atlantic City.

While the cabby was driving the attacker around he received a phone call from a fellow cab driver. The friend let the cabby know that police were looking for his car. The cabby patched him to police dispatch and he told the state police his location.

The attacker realized what was going on and told the cabby to drop him off. He was let out of the cab and police searched the area but could not find the suspect. Meanwhile the elder gentleman who was attacked remains in the hospital in stable condition.

This is just another story that helps people remember that they should be very careful when leaving a casino after a big win. Many criminals wait in the casino just watching for a big winner to leave. Always be aware of your surroundings when you leave a casino with a large amount of cash.
