Atlantic City Casinos Fined for Blackjack Games
Two Atlantic City casinos were recently fined large sums of money for operating their blackjack games with fifty one card decks. Bothe the Bally’s Atlantic City and the Showboat Casino Hotel stated that the games running with the fifty one card decks were accidents but they were still forced to pay fines.

Bally’s had to pay a fine of $18,000 while the Showboat had to pay $10,000. The casinos had to pay the fine to the New Jersey Casino Control Commission. The incident at Bally’s was said to have occurred when the warning light on the auto shuffler was ignored by the dealer. The light shows that the deck is short but the dealer ignored the light. The casino was running the game with fifty one cards for nine hours before the deck was changed.

At the incident at the Showboat the incident saw a three of Hearts get stuck in the shuffler and this was not noticed for four hours. Since the incident at Showboat was shorter than the Bally’s incident that is why the fine was lower for the Showboat.

The Casino Control Commission keeps tabs on such incidents and they do not take them lightly. They want to keep the casinos in check and make sure that the casinos and the dealers are making sure the deck is full during games so players will not feel cheated.
